Welcome to the Ultimate Musical Writer’s Planner—the all-in-one workbook to brainstorm, develop, plan and calendar your new musical!
Much more than a simple notebook or calendar, the Ultimate Musical Writer’s Planner is the only musical writing workbook of its kind. This planner wasn’t intended to be a “how-to” book on writing musicals (we have great recommendations for that here). It was more designed to be a tool to help codify your ideas. You’ll find guides on outlining story structure and character development, charts for determining vocal ranges and rhyme patterns, checklists for readings and marketing, goal planning sheets, a monthly planning calendar, and much, much more. It’s a 120+ page musical planner and workbook to take you from concept to stage.
The Ultimate Musical Writer’s Planner – Digital Version is a downloadable, printable PDF so you can print as many copies as you need. (For the hard copy version, click here.)

Brings together a wide range of info and insights that you’d usually need *many* books, discussions, and/or years of experience to acquire. Up-to-date about modern sharing/submission methods. (Some of the classic MT dev books discuss mailing tapes and CDs). The fill-in-the-blank workbook sections will be great for some people. Others will benefit from the frameworks, then go their own way. Overall, recommended.

After writing the books and lyrics for 4 musicals with three different composers I have now discovered a tool that would have made it all so much easier. “The Ultimate Musical Writer’s Planner is a Godsend! This planner is an incredible tool to help you get organized and stay that way from the starting thoughts to the final chords of the closing number. I will never begin a new work without it!
